- I took over five years of piano lessons, and still can't seem to play piano.
- I love Lakefront Pumpkin Lager, but I think that Three Lakes pumpkin wine is pretty horrible. Am choking down the last few sips right now, as I type. I'm not sure why I'm still drinking it.
- I managed to get through college (as an English major) without having read McBeth.
- I roasted chestnuts for the first time on Thanksgiving. Does roasting them on my gas stove count as an "open fire"?
- I have been toying with the idea of going back for my master's degree for almost six years now. Ultimately, I think I've decided that I love cooking more than I love school. For some reason, that realization was a little bit scary.
- I would really like to get my nose pierced.
- I haven't blogged in so long that I'm almost scared to start again.

i hate to make my first comment a negative one, and your blog is hardly the only, or worst, offender in this regard, but frankly i read food blogs for food info and recipes. i really, really don't care about your random facts, or the book nearest you (unless it's a cookbook), or any of the other completely useless and annoying blog "memes" that surface on a too-regular basis. ok, sorry, rant over. great blog.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD! I can't believe the above comment! I just can't believe someone would be a) so rude and b) so arrogant
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutley horrified!
No troubles! All opinions are welcome here. We can't hope to please everyone all of the time... nor would that be ideal.
ReplyDeleteI can understand the disappointment of wandering over, expecting some foodie bits, and ending up with something else.
Rest assured, we'll definitely be posting more about food & recipes in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to gloss over anything that doesn't suit your needs.
I believe the title of the post is " Been Tagged: Seven Random Facts"... I for one enjoyed your seven random facts post very much. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love memes and I'm glad you posted this. Look, even food blogs are entitled to contain a little of us and our lives. In a sense, it's these things that shap our cooking.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on the piano lessons. I couldn't discipline myself to really practice. Also, I don't think my teacher really explained the theory to me well enough. I might have done better with a teacher who wasn't 100 years old, didnt' have a thick Italian accent, and understood that you have to explain concepts to children differently from how you would explain them to teens or adults.
Lucky you never having read Mac____(I do some acting, so I can't say it). I hated that play.
Don't be afraid to blog again. Whatever you say I'm sure will be wonderful.
Oh, that's funny. I majored in English as well and I've never read/seen MacBeth!
ReplyDelete5 years of piano here too (with nuns!) & couldn't play a song now to save my soul!!
ReplyDeleteI get Hamlet & Macbeth mixed up.
I say get your nose pierced. I got the tattoo this summer!
I loved this!!!
Get your nose pierced!!
ReplyDelete(Tiny voice: I love MacBeth...)
And I love to read everything you write in your blog...yay for return to blogging!
Dang. Suzanne did a number on you. I liked the random facts. I was acutally seriously looking into getting my masters in Creative Writing or English but was too worried it would hamper my creativity and natural style. I'm glad someone felt the same way.
